Privacy

Lightphase asks for one thing and does one thing with it. This page is short because there is not much to say.

Your location

• It is requested only after you tap the button — never on load.
• It is held in the page’s memory and used to calculate the sun’s position on your device.
• It is not sent to a Lightphase server. There is no Lightphase server.
• It is not written to storage, a cookie, or a URL.
• It is gone the moment you close the tab.

On a return visit, if your browser has already granted this site location, Lightphase resolves silently rather than making you tap again. If it has not, it waits for you.

Precision

Lightphase asks for a coarse fix rather than a high-accuracy one. Phase times do not change meaningfully over a few hundred metres, so the extra precision would buy nothing and cost you something. The coordinates shown on screen are rounded to a tenth of a degree — around ten kilometres — for the same reason.

Accounts and data

There are no accounts, no sign-in, no profile and no database. Nothing about you is stored anywhere. The only thing Lightphase keeps on your device is which appearance you chose, light or dark, in your browser’s local storage.

Analytics

No analytics are running. If anonymous product events are ever added — page loaded, location granted, calculation succeeded — the rule is written into the code: an event may record that something happened, never where. The event payload has no field that could hold a coordinate.

Third parties

Lightphase loads no fonts, no scripts, no trackers and no embeds from anywhere else. It makes no network request at all after the page has loaded. There is no solar API to call — the sun is calculated in your browser.

Hosting

The site is served as static files. Like any web server, the host may record standard request logs — an IP address, a timestamp, a page path. Lightphase itself neither reads those nor connects them to anything.
